I love showing friends around Deer Valley for their first time. I love to see what impresses them. We locals know it has first class service, 21 chairlifts, 103 runs, three day lodges, and is ranked best resort in the country for six consecutive years.
It was fun to introduce my friend Noreen from Massachusetts to Deer Valley. She snapped photos of things that wowed her, and I took photos of her taking photos.
The cheery fireplace in the base lodge welcomed us on that cold morning.
In the locker room you can rent the basket for $5 and get in and out of it all day long – very helpful as days go from cold in the morning to warmer in a few hours. Or, you can rent a large locker for $2.
Also impressive, the ladies room sinks have hot water as well as beautiful flower displays.
Then we skied and skied. Noreen stopped often to take photos of the beautiful scenery and slopes.
We worked up an appetite so we went into the slopeside Stein Eriksen Lodge for lunch. We had a delicious lunch in lovely surroundings
Then we looked at the trophy case with many of Stein Eriksen’s trophies.
Then we skied and skied some more. On our last run we took
the Last Chance trail. Many homes along the trail have humorous
animal sculptures. Bears ski off the roof and lounge on the
railing of this house.
We ended the day with a hot drink on the patio and enjoyed the
sunshine. Introduce your friend to Deer Valley and watch how they enjoy the
experience.
