Resorts celebrate the holiday in many ways.
At Alta, celebrate Catholic mass at Our Lady of the Snows at 10 a.m. on Christmas day.

The first 100 participants at Brighton ski or ride free on Christmas eve and Christmas day when they're dressed like Santa. The rules are simple: Wear a red coat, red pants, a beard and a Santa hat to qualify.

Santa visits Deer Valley on Dec. 24 in the Snow Park Lodge area from 9 - 1:30 p.m. with a break for lunch. Bring your camera and take a photo of your child with Santa.

Snowbird has many activities. On Christmas eve, the first 100 dressed like Santa ski free. There's caroling on the Plaze Deck from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. That's followed by a torchlight parade and Santa arrives by rappeling out of the tram about 6 p.m. About 7 p.m. there's a candlelight service with a short sermon and caroling. Some of Snowbird's finest restaurants will serve Christmas dinner from 5 - 10 p.m.

On Christmas day, Mr. and Mrs. Claus ride the slopes all day. And restaurants again serve Christmas dinner.

At Snowbasin, Christmas celebrations start on Dec. 24 with photos with Santa. On Christmas eve, a special Christmas dinner will be available in the base area at Earl's Lodge. Santa will arrive by sleigh about 6 p.m. and that's followed by a torchlight parade on City Hill about 6:30. The evening concludes with fireworks about 6:45 p.m.

Happy holidays.
