Family Fun concert planned
The Salt Lake Symphony will perform its annual Family Fun concert on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Libby Gardner Concert Hall on President’s Circle on the University of Utah campus. Admission is $10 for adults, $3 for students, seniors and kids. Tickets are available in advance at 801-531-7501, or at the door with cash, check or credit card.
Come hear high-flying favorites like Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyres” and Holst’s “Jupiter” from “The Planets.” Take a stroll through the Hundred “Aker” Wood with “Winnie-the Pooh and the Blustery Day” from the beloved Pooh animated feature. Ride out Beethoven’s storm from his “Pastorale Symphony no. 6,” or fly with the birds in Vivaldi’s “Spring” from “The Four Seasons,” glide with Superman in John Williams’ “Superman March,” and board a magnificent flying machine in “The Great Waldo Pepper March” by Henry Mancini. No parachutes needed, but this concert may just take your breath away.
