Even during the cold, frosty winter months, nothing beats the taste of creamy, sweet frozen yogurt. And no one makes it better than Top It Frozen Yogurt.

Owners Gordon and Julie Poulson opened the first Top It store in Holladay two years ago. In June, they decided to open a second store, this one across from East High School at 1300 East 877 South. Gordon attended East High School, and his parents and grandparents are also East alumni.

“Gordon was excited to open the store in that area,” Julie says.

Top It Frozen Yogurt has 10 flavors of self-serve frozen yogurt with favorites such as pomegranate raspberry, cake batter, red velvet and caramel. Customers can also select from more than 40 toppings to add to their treat. These toppings include gummy bears, Oreo cookies, graham cracker crumbs, sprinkles, trail mix, Captain Crunch cereal and cookie dough, along with the freshest seasonal toppings such as candy canes around Christmas. Fruit toppings are also available, and best of all, the fruit is fresh, not frozen.

Everything is self serve at Top It and weighed at the register. Guests are charged .38 cents per ounce for their flavor creations. Guests can mix and match their favorite yogurts flavors and get creative with the toppings to create a truly original treat.

“Our guests get the experience of buying as much or as little as they want,” Gordon says. “You get exactly what you pay for at Top It Frozen Yogurt.”

At Top It, customers will enjoy delicious frozen yogurt that has live and active cultures, which Julie says is “true yogurt—healthy and good for the immune system.” The yogurt also has no added sugar, and most of the yogurt flavors are gluten free.

“The atmosphere is fun and very family friendly,” Gordon says. “We want our customers to recognize that not only do we have the best frozen yogurt in town, but also the friendliest staff to make the entire experience completely satisfying.”

At the new Top It location, you can also enjoy refreshing smoothies and sodas or even warm up with a cup of gourmet hot chocolate or cappuccino. In addition, Top It now offers hot dogs for lunch for the younger crowd.

With such close proximity to East High School, as well as Westminster College and the University of Utah, Gordon and Julie recognize the attraction the store has to students. As such, Julie says Top It offers a 10 percent discount to students who show their school identification.

“College, high school and even junior high students can get the discount,” she says.

Top It Frozen Yogurt is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The store is closed Sundays.
