Let's go see witches
Witches are real. I saw them. They were walking around Gardner Village and talking with children. And the kids weren't scared, so they must have been friendly witches. Gardner Village is decorated to the max with witches, pumpkins, hay bales, cute signs, a pumpkin pile as big as a small house, and much more.
All through October, Gardner Village does Halloween to the extreme. It's worth a trip to see it all -- even if you're not into Halloween. You will be! My personal favorite is the witch-go-round -- a sort of merry-go-round with three witches endlessly chasing each other around in a circle.
A life-long friend was visitng from Albequerque and we went to Gardner Village to stroll around the grounds. I expected some seasonal decorations, but I never expected the extensive display of good natured fun. A huge flying witch went splat on the silo. Another is ready to jump into the mill pond next to the water wheel. This witch is pulling a handcart filled with pumpkins. There are surprises around every corner.
When you go: Avoid peak mid-day. It can be very busy. And I betcha' the weekends are really packed, so go early or late.
